FCCU Team Spotlight: Eric Iverson
Welcome to another Team Spotlight Blog! I traveled to our Watertown branch, and sat down with our Branch Manager, Eric Iverson. Check it out!
Hello! Can you introduce yourself and tell us how long you've been at FCCU?
Hi! My name is Eric Iverson, and I am the Watertown Branch Manager. I have been with FCCU since June of 2019.
What does an average day at FCCU look like for you?
Being the Branch Manager means that I am also a loan officer. I start the day by taking a look to see if there were any internet leads that have come in where people have applied for loans via FCCU's website. It could be an auto loan, personal loan, or a credit card. I also help out with branch operations, coaching team members, and business development efforts.
What is your favorite part about your job?
In general, I love helping people and that is my favorite part about being with the Credit Union. It's so fulfilling to be able to help members meet their financial goals.
Outside of work, what are some of your favorite things to do?
I like to golf, bike riding, and I am a huge sports fan. I enjoy watching football and golf on TV. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
What is your favorite volunteering opportunity you've done with FCCU and why?
My favorite volunteer event was the Watertown Chamber of Commerce Downtown Wine Walk. Berenice (Watertown MSR and Teller) and I were volunteer wine pourers. It was a lot of fun to be a part of the community and network with friends, colleagues and community members.
What is your favorite 80's or 90's jam?
That's a hard question. Can I say my favorite band? The 80's were when I was in High School, so I would have to say my favorite band would be Van Halen.
What is your favorite song by them?
My favorite Van Halen song is not from the 80's or 90's, but I like their song "Jump", which was their big hit. But I also like the song
Dance The Night Away", which is from their second album Van Halen II. A song that I really like that is one of the all-time great rock 'n' roll songs.
If you could be any animal in the world, what would it be and why?
I would have to say, as a youngster I always thought about having a pet dolphin. So, I would go with dolphin.
What is one FCCU service that you wish more people knew about?
If I'm going for a Watertown perspective, I would say that we offer checking and savings accounts. I think in general the Watertown market looks at us just for loans. Our checking accounts offer so much, from debit cards to a change-up savings account, we try to make things easy and convenient for our members. FCCU's checking accounts help members who may be struggling financially, because there is no minimum balance and no annual fees. Plus, our members have access to an ATM network with over 32,000 surcharge-free ATMs.
If you won the lottery, what would you do?
Depending on how much the lottery is, assuming that it is the Jackpot, I would retire. I would winter in Florida and get a summer house in Door County. I think that Door County is the prettiest part of Wisconsin. I would travel and do fun things like that.
Are there any places where you would like to travel?
If you would have asked me that three years ago it would have been very easy, but I was lucky enough to go to that place, which is London. That was the absolute top of my bucket list. I would want to go to the places in the commercials, like Bora Bora, where the huts are above blue water. One of those places would be neat. The Pacific Islands maybe Fiji would be fun because the water is so blue.
What does the Credit Union difference mean to you?
It boils down to helping our members overcome whatever financial challenge they encounter. Our members are always the top priority. We value relationships and know that our members are more than just a number.
